Dr. Karen Gil, a Professor in Clinical Psychology, is appointed Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences effective July 2009.
As Dean, Dr. Gil oversees the largest academic institution on campus, including more than 70 academic departments, curricula, programs, and centers. Dr. Gil has served as a UNC faculty member since 1995 and has previously held positions as Senior Associate Dean for Social Sciences and International Programs, Senior Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, and Chair of the Department of Psychology.
