Vanessa Volpe, a graduate student in Developmental Psychology, is the recipient of a 2015 Basic Psychological Science Research Grant from the American Psychological Association of Graduate Students.

The Basic Psychological Science Research Grant funds innovative psychological science research projects.

Vanessa was awarded $1,000 towards her research that examines coping strategies and vagal regulation as potential mechanisms through which racial discrimination may translate into health outcomes for African-American undergraduate students.
