Dr. Todd Thiele, a Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience, receives a 4-year appointment, effective 2015, to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism Neuroscience Review Subcommittee (AA-4).

The Neuroscience Research Review Subcommittee reviews applications on all aspects of alcohol-related neuroscience studies, including neurotransmission, transmitter receptors, endocrinology, anatomy, physiology, and genetics. The Subcommittee also reviews investigations of behavioral factors, such as non-metabolic tolerance, dependence, drinking behavior, cognitive and memory processes, and biological-behavioral linkages. Assignments to this Subcommittee may also include studies of the relationship between alcohol and other addictive agents. The Subcommittee evaluates applications submitted to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, with a focus on National Research Service Awards and small grant mechanisms, such as R21 applications.
