The 2nd Annual Ann Rankin Cowan Lecture, made possible and sponsored by Ann Rankin Cowan and the Cowan Family Foundation, features Dan Ariely, Ph.D., a James B. Duke Professor of Psychology and Behavioral Economics at Duke University. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in our UNC Cognitive Psychology Program (1994 and 1996, respectively) and earned a second doctorate degree in Business Administration at Duke. He’s given several TED Talks, with over 8 million views, including Are We In Control Of Our Own Decisions? and Our Buggy Moral Code. Dr. Ariely has also written several books, including “Irrationally Yours” and “The (Honest) Truth about Dishonesty.”
