Dr. Patrick Curran, a Professor of Quantitative Psychology, Dr. Peter Ornstein, a Chapin Distinguished Professor of Developmental Psychology, and Dr. Jennifer Coffman, an Associate Professor at UNC Greensboro, are the recipients of a 2017 Institute for Education Sciences Grant.

The Institute of Education Sciences supports research that addresses important issues in education and develops solutions that improve school readiness and academic achievement for all students.

Drs. Curran, Ornstein, and Coffman received a total award of over $1.3 million (over four years) for their project, “Student Learning as a Function of Exposure to Teachers’ Use of Cognitive Processing Language During Instruction.”
