2017 Distinguished Alumnus Lecture & Award Presentation

We are pleased to announce that the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Award is Dr. David Budescu, who earned his Ph.D. in the Quantitative Psychology Program in 1980.

Dr. Budescu is the inaugural Anne Anastasi Professor of Psychometrics and Quantitative Psychology at Fordham University. He has held tenured positions at the University of Illinois and the University of Haifa and visiting positions at Carnegie Mellon University, University of Gotheborg, the Kellog School at Northwestern University, and the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). His research is in the areas of human judgement, individual and group decision-making under uncertainty and with incomplete and vague information, and statistics for the behavioral and social sciences.

Dr. Budescu’s talk, entitled “Identifying Expertise to Extract the Wisdom of Crowds” “is scheduled for Wednesday, March 22, 3:30 pm in Howell Hall, room 205.
