Departmental Commencement

CommencementThe College of Arts and Sciences, Natural Sciences & Mathematics, Department of Psychology and Neuroscience Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held Sunday, May 12, 2024, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Dean E. Smith Center. Graduates must arrive by 10:30 a.m. to line-up for the processional. Late arrivals will be seated in the back.

Below are some important announcements:

  • Graduates must register for commencement- Please register via this link: https://unc.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3x76TMnodghb69o or the QR code below:qrcode.ashx (740×740)
  • Graduates must pick up their registration card in early May and bring same to Commencement (pick-up instructions will be emailed to graduates).
  • Graduates will be mailed a formal invitation in early April to the graduate’s permanent mailing address. 
  •  If you are graduating in December 2023, May 2024, or August 2024, you are welcome to attend. 
  • Graduates do not receive their diploma during Commencement. Diplomas are mailed upon completion of degree requirements at a later date.
  • Due to ample space at the venue, there is no limit on the number of guests a graduate can bring. Guests do not need tickets.
  • Doors to the Smith center open at 10 a.m.
  • Accessibility parking for the ceremony will be in the S11 Williamson Lot and is available to anyone with a handicap placard or plate. University Transportation and Parking will provide a golf cart shuttle from the lot to Entry A of the Dean E. Smith Center.

University Commencement

The University Commencement Ceremony will be held at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Kenan Stadium. For more information, visit the University Commencement website.

Doctoral Hooding Ceremony

The 2024 Doctoral Hooding Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. in the Dean Smith Center. For more information, visit the Graduate School website.
