Dr. Erica Wise, a Professor of Clinical Psychology and Director of Psychological Services, has been appointed to the American Psychological Association’s Commission on Ethics Processes.
The Board of Directors of the American Psychological Association has selected 17 distinguished psychologists and ethics experts to serve on a special commission to review all of the association’s ethics processes and procedures. The APA Council of Representatives approved the establishment of a commission to evaluate and recommend changes to its ethics processes as part of its adoption in August 2015 of a policy prohibiting psychologists from participating in national security investigations.
The commission is expected to complete its work in 2016 and to present a final report at the February 2017 meetings of the APA Board of Directors, Council Leadership Team, and Council of Representatives.
