Dr. David Penn, a Professor of Clinical Psychology, is the recipient of a 2016 National Institutes of Health R33 grant.

The R33 award is to provide a second phase for the support for innovative exploratory and development research activities initiated under the R21 mechanism which supports early and conceptual stages of project development.

Dr. Penn received a total award of over $800,000 (over three years) for his project, “Targeting Stress Reactivity in Schizophrenia: Integrated Coping Awareness Therapy.”
