Dr. Sylvia Fitting, an Assistant Professor of Behavioral Neuroscience, is the recipient of a 2016 National Institutes of Health R21 grant.

The Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant Award (R21) is intended to to encourage exploratory/developmental research by providing support for the early and conceptual stages of project development.

Dr. Fitting received a total award of over $400,000 (over two years) for her project, “Investigation of Endocannabinoid Mediated Neuroprotection in models of NeuroAIDS.”
