Dr. Marsha Penner, Lecturer, is the recipient of a 2017 Robert E. Bryan Public Service Award from the UNC Carolina Center for Public Service.

The Robert E. Bryan Award honors the memory and accomplishments of alumnus Robert E. Bryan ’26 of Newton Grove, NC who worked his way through UNC to become a successful businessman, entrepreneur, and public service. The Bryan Award recognizes individual students, faculty, staff, and organizations at UNC for extraordinary public service and engagement. 5 Bryan Awards are given annually for a specific effort exemplifying outstanding engagement and service to the State of North Carolina that is characterized by working in partnership with community members, inspiring and involving otehrs, responding to a pratical problem, issue, or concern, and working to assure the impact in the community is lasting. Dr. Penner will be honored at the UNC Public Service Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm at the Carolina Club in the George Watts Hill Alumni Center.
