Dr. Steven Buzinski, a Teaching Assistant Professor, is the recipient of the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Presentation Grant.

The Center for Faculty Excellence supports the grown number of faculty members interested in sharing the results of their work in the classroom represent the movement known as the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL). This work is based on methodologies that offer some evidence about the impact of the intervention on student learning experiences and outcomes. The Center for Faculty Excellence offers a small grants program to support faculty members who wish to publish on the results of changes they have made to their teaching or to present on their findings at local, national, or international conferences.

Dr. Buzinski received a presentation grant to defray costs associated with conference preparation and travel. Dr. Buzinski will present “Just Talk to Your Neighbor: How Our Socially Anxious Students Perceive Active Learning Classrooms” at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology National Conference on March 1 – 3, 2018 in Atlanta, Georgia.
