Dr. Donald Baucom, a Richard Lee Simpson Distinguished Professor of Clinical Psychology, and Dr. Melanie Fischer, a Postdoctoral Fellow in Clinical Psychology, are the recipients of a National Institute of Mental Health R03 Grant.

The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) uses the R03 mechanism to provide support for projects requiring minimal funding for limited periods of time in any area relevant to the mission of the Institute as represented by its program areas, including Neuroscience and Basic Behavioral Science, Adult Translational Research and Treatment Development, Developmental Translational Research, AIDS Research, and Services and Intervention Research.

Dr. Baucom and Dr. Fisher received a total award of over $155,000 (over two years) for their project, “Social Processes in Research Domain Criteria (RDoC): Function and Dysfunction of Interpersonal Emotion Regulation in Depression and Anxiety.”
