Kimberly Pentel, a graduate student in Clinical Psychology, is the 2017-18 recipient of a UNC Chapel Hill Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Questioning (LGBTIQ) Advocacy Award.
This award recognizes contributions to or advocacy on behalf of the LGBTIQ communities at UNC. Individuals who have elevated the status of LGBTIQ-identified person and/or allies, helped to improve campus or community policies affecting LGBTIQ-identified person, and enhanced visibility and awareness of LGBTIQ issues are the recipients of this award.
Three awards given out annually by the UNC LGBT Center: one to an undergraduate student, one to a graduate/professional student, and one to a faculty/staff member. Kim will be honored for her advocacy at the Lavender Graduation on Sunday, May 6th at 4:00 PM in Upendo Lounge, located in SASB North. Congratulations, Kim!
