Grant Canipe, a graduate student in Developmental Psychology, is the 2019 recipient of a Psi Chi Award for Outstanding Teaching by a Graduate Student.

Psi Chi recognizes a graduate teaching assistant annually who helps undergraduate students grow through teaching, research, and mentorship.

Grant received this award as he is an outstanding instructor of undergraduate students. He taught Developmental Psychology in the fall and has been recognized for his outstanding contributions in the past as well. In addition to being a dedicated instructor, he is also an exceptional researcher in the Cheatham Nutrition and Cognition Lab under Dr. Carol Cheatham, (with a focus on dopamine signaling along various pathways using nutritional and exercise interventions). Grant was honored at the Psychology and Neuroscience Commencement Ceremony on May 12, 2019.
