Dr. Viji Sathy, Teaching Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, was selected to serve on the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Board on Science Education Committee.
The Board on Science Education Committee is a part of the National Academies’ Response of Higher Education to COVID-19: Resilience and Innovation. This ad-hoc committee will provide U.S. states and districts with guidance about whether and how to safely reopen schools in the 2020-2021 school year. The committee will report utilizing evidence from epidemiology, public health, and the social and behavioral sciences. The Board on Science Education Committee will provide guidance on the health-related issues for safely reopening schools and the practices that should be implemented in order to maintain and monitor the health of staff and students.
