Dr. Sara Algoe, Associate Professor of Social Psychology, is the recipient of a John Templeton Foundation grant in collaboration with Duke University.

The John Templeton Foundation offers grants in support of research and public engagement in major funding areas. They invest in bold ideas from contrarian thinkers — ideas that cross disciplinary boundaries and challenge conventional assumptions and fund innovative programs that engage the public with these ideas, in an effort to open minds, deepen understanding, and inspire curiosity.

Dr. Algoe received a total award of over $57,000 (over two years) for her project, “On Thanksgiving: How Gratitude to God is Demonstrated, with Consequences for the Grateful Person and Witnesses.”
