Dr. Carol Cheatham, Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology, is the recipient of a 2020 National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism R21 grant.

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is one of the 27 institutes and centers that comprise the National Institutes of Health (NIH). NIAAA supports and conducts research on the impact of alcohol use on human health and well-being. It is the largest funder of alcohol research in the world.

Dr. Cheatham was awarded over $408,000 (over one year) for her project, “Synergy of Nutrients and the Prevention of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD): Effects on Brain Development and Function in a Rat Model.”
