Drs. Beth Kurtz-Costes and Danny Rahal have received the 2022 Outstanding Paper Award from AMENA-Psy (American Arab, Middle Eastern, and North African Psychological Association) for their paper “Religiosity and Mistreatment Among Christian and Muslim Arab Americans,” which was published in Psychology of Religion and Spirituality: https://doi.apa.org/doi/10.1037/rel0000432
Danny conducted this work as part of his senior honors research in our department (with Dr. Kurtz-Costes’ mentorship) before he went on to UCLA to complete his doctoral work. Danny jokes that he had to complete his Ph.D. before being able to publish his senior thesis!
Members of the award committee stated that “Your work stood out as particularly significant, innovative, and strong in methodological rigor.” Danny will be honored at the AMENA-PSY virtual conference on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
