Dr. Kathryn Reissner, an Assistant Professor of Behavioral and Integrative Neuroscience, is a recipient of the 2018 J. Carlyle Sitterson Award for Teaching First-Year Students Distinguished Teaching Award.

This Distinguished Teaching Award is given by the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost to recognize excellence in teaching first-year students by a tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the College of Arts and Sciences. Lyle Sitterson was a Kenan Professor of History and Chancellor of the University from 1962-1972 and was a passionate advocate for inspired teaching of first-year students. Dr. Reissner was chosen for her commitment to excellent teaching and to education in general.

Dr. Reissner will be recognized at half-time of the UNC-Georgia Tech men’s basketball game on January 20, 2018.
