Dr. Barbara Fredrickson, a Kenan Distinguished Professor of Social Psychology, is the recipient of a 2018 Templeton World Charity Foundation grant.
Templeton World Charity Foundation, Inc. was established to serve as a global philanthropic catalyst for discoveries relating to big questions of life and the universe, in areas of science, theology, philosophy, and human society. Sir John Templeton established the Foundation to foster bold, ambitious thinking and creative communications on diverse topics in order to stimulate humility, curiosity, and enthusiasm for new discoveries. This is reflected in the Foundation’s motto: “How little we know, how eager to learn.”
Dr. Fredrickson received a total award of over $234,000 (over two years) for her project, “Understanding Everyday Love: Do Increases in Positivity Resonance Increase Virtuous Behavior?”
