The Thurstone Psychometric Lab in the Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill is pleased to announce the Lyle V. Jones Visiting Academic Scholarship Program. Lyle dedicated more than fifty years of his life to the Thurstone Lab and upon his passing provided financial support for quantitatively-oriented researchers and academicians to visit as guests of the Lab.

Visitors must be at least five years post-Ph.D. and can be working in a wide range of academic, research, and industry settings. Stays can be as short as four weeks and as long as a full academic year and visitors will receive up to $2,000 per month to help offset living expenses (pending availability of funds each year). Visitors will be provided with office space and computing support and the key expectation is that the individual be in some way actively involved in the intellectual community of the Lab.

Applications for the Fall of 2020 are due March 1, 2020 and for the Spring of 2021: August 1, 2020. Applications will be considered outside of these dates if funding remains available. Complete details are available online and specific questions can be directed to Dr. Patrick Curran.
