Dr. Natasha Duell, a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Developmental Psychology Program, was named the May 2020 Society for Research on Adolescence (SRA) Emerging Scholar.
Dr. Duell was selected as an Emerging Scholar for her work which takes a strengths-based approach to examining biopsychosocial and cultural correlates of adolescent decision making and risk-taking. Her current research explores predictors and outcomes of positive risk taking in adolescence. Dr. Duell is also the co-recipient of a young scholars project grant from the Jacobs Foundation that will examine learning and feedback sensitivity in youth from various cultures. With her research, Dr. Duell ultimately endeavors to understand how the characteristics inherent to adolescent development can be directed toward behaviors and opportunities that facilitate adolescents’ well-being.
