2018 Distinguished Alumnus Lecture & Award Presentation

We are pleased to announce that the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Alumnus Award is Dr. John Holmes, who earned his Ph.D. in the Social Psychology Program in 1971.

Dr. Holmes earned his B.A. and M.A. at Carleton University before joining us at Carolina. He co-authored a book on interdependence with Dr. Hal Kelly and other leading relationship researchers. He is a gifted theoretician and researcher in the area of understanding attribution and inference processes in close relationship. Dr. Holmes is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo.

Dr. Holmes’ talk, entitled “The Structure of Interdependence Shapes Cognition in Relationships” “is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, 3:30 pm in Howell Hall, room 205.
